The Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions (DBCA) will be undertaking an aerial survey for kangaroos and other wildlife from approximately 12th – 21st August 2024 (exact dates to be determined by weather conditions).
Update: Please be advised that the aerial kangaroo surveys scheduled to begin 12th August have been postponed until further notice.
The survey consists of flights along pre-determined transect lines that are approximately 55km apart and conducted at an altitude of 250 feet running east-west or west-east. Transects are flown once in a three-year survey period.
